Day 10: "T-o-m-o...o"

We departed for Pittsburgh this morning at 10:00.  The roughly 6 hour trip was pretty uneventful -- just a lot of reading, talking, sleeping, etc.  We arrived at our super nice hotel, the Wyndham, at around 4 and had an hour to hang out in our rooms before meeting in Dr. Bob's room at 5 to leave for the game.  It's going to be really nice to stay here for three days because the beds are awesome (and Stephanie and I each get our own! score!) and we won't have to spend large amounts of time in the van. Awesome.

Wanna know what else is awesome? FREE T-SHIRTS. Thank you, Pirates.  And since we got to the game so early (it's walking distance from the hotel) we were able to watch batting practice.  Stephanie/Madison got two balls, although we gave one to a child standing next to us (half because we're nice people and half because we wanted his dad to shut up).  After batting practice was over, Stephanie, Danny, Madison and I walked around the ballpark before heading to our seats.  It was really nice being on the first level - and behind home plate no less - as opposed to our previous few games where we've been about as high up in the stadium as possible.  It's not that I mind the view from up high but it's more fun to be surrounded by the diehard fans. It makes for a more exciting atmosphere.  The fans were in an especially good mood tonight as the Pirates defeated the Tigers with a final score of 10-1.  A few of us were definitely getting into the game, standing up and cheering when runs were scored and getting our groove on during the 7th inning stretch (which we were complimented on by multiple randoms after the game).  Our goal for tomorrow? Dance our way onto the big screen. It's gonna be good.

Yeahh free t-shirts!

This guy picked up a ball using this glove contraption.  He told us that he's used it to pick up 80 balls in 88 games.
