Day 6: "You're more to do stuff"

Our group reunited this morning at 9 a.m.  After loading up the van and watching the first inning of Ken Burns' Baseball documentary, we were on our way back to Chicago.  The ride there was pretty uneventful...lots of reading and group naptime.  We rolled into the windy city around 5:00, but there was some confusion over missing tickets that Dr. Bob had to resolve so we ended up hanging out in the van for quite some time before going to eat dinner with a few alums at around 6:00.  After filling up on double dogs and fries at 35th street Red Hots, we walked over to U.S. Cellular Field which I definitely like a lot more than Wrigley Field.  It's so much more open and I thought the view was way better.

When we got there we got our group picture in front of the stadium like we always do and then we split off into two groups.  Danny, Madison, Stephanie, Erick and I ended up walking past a place where you can see how fast you can pitch, so Danny and Erick tried it out and both were able to pitch over 60 mph.  While we were watching that, a man came up to us and asked if we would be in a facebook video for Slim Jim so of course we were all over that! The five of us were then interviewed.  We were asked three questions: what is your favorite team, what are you doing this summer, and what would you do this summer if you had a million dollars?  Not sure what that had to do with Slim Jim but we all got free t-shirts out of it so we were pretty excited! Cross THAT off the bucket list :) Also check us out on the Slim Jim facebook page - we'll apparently be on there eventually!

I don't have much to say about the game...the Rangers defeated the White Sox with a final score of 4-0.  Again it was pretty chilly but not nearly as bad as the second game at Wrigley AND this time we came prepared with Stephanie's humongous blanket that can fit four people.  I was pretty happy because I kept score during this game and it was a SUPER easy game to score.  Nothing like the Brewers game with all of the crazy pitching changes.  After the game was over we made our way to the lovely Baymont Inn which is where we'll be tonight and tomorrow.  Next up, Rangers @ White Sox again tomorrow night! Stay tuned!

Outside the stadium!

Danny seeing how fast he can pitch...Stephanie ended up owing him $2.00 because he pitched over 60 mph!

Us with our free Slim Jim shirts :)

Our view when we got there and right before we left.
