Today, we spent about 13 hours in the van traveling from Chicago to Philly. It was about as enjoyable as you'd expect spending 13 hours in a van to be. Not much else to say about that other than it's super hard to stay awake during the early morning shotgun shift and hot breakfast sandwiches make for a more satisfying meal than donut holes. Moving on...
We arrived in Philly around 6ish (maybe? I'm actually not positive on what time it was) and headed straight for the stadium but there was a TON of traffic so we got to the stadium about 40 minutes before the game started (or so Danny's blog says...ha). Everyone was pretty unanimous that this was one of the best games we've seen so far; instead of one of the teams surging ahead in runs it was more about the pitching. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Phillies, making it the closest game we've seen yet which definitely made it more exciting to watch.
After the game we headed to our hotel which took about two hours due to traffic. Once we got there, we were all SO ready to go crash because it was such a long day. However, that was not to be the case for most of us. Somehow, only one out of our four rooms was reserved, so the room of four got it and the rest of us piled back in the van and found a different motel with rooms open. I was originally very jealous of the guys for getting to stay and not have to deal with more travel, but we TOTALLY lucked out because our room was awesome! Too bad we only got to stay there for one night.
I don't have any pictures from this day (besides the one I took of our room) because the day was mostly spent in the van and I didn't have my memory card in my camera for the game, so I'll leave you with some notable quotables (as Madison would say) from Catchphrase, which we played a LOT to pass the time.
